Mother’s Day comes around only once a year, but there is no doubt that it deserves more than a single day of recognition. On this special occasion, moms around the globe are showered and pampered with all sorts of lavish spoils. From spa treatments to jewelry, nothing is too good for the matriarch. Long gone are the days of macaroni necklaces and finger paintings, however. The generic, “roses are red, violets are blue…” poems have since faded from those homemade construction cards. And the erupting giggles of children charging into the bedroom shouting “Happy Mother’s Day!” is but a pleasant memory. Life charges by just as hard and unapologetically as those children once had, so don’t forget to pump the brakes every now and again and truly remember what our moms have done for us, sacrificed for us, given to us. This year consider giving her something from the heart - something thoughtfully crafted from your own two hands. A homemade floral arrangement is a great place to start and it doesn’t have to be elaborate or extravagant (might I remind you she wore that macaroni necklace proudly for weeks). Just make sure you don’t forget the heartfelt card and if you don’t know the right words to tell her how you feel, start with “rose are red…” there isn’t a dry eye from any mother who has ever read those words. Happy Mother’s Day!
